HSRL’s Newly Redesigned Virginia Laboratory Doubles Business Capacity


Leading histopathology service provider expands to accommodate increase in demand.

HSRL Lab Expansion

Mount Jackson – July 18, 2018 – HSRL, Inc. is an industry-leading histopathology laboratory providing services to contract research organizations, drug discovery firms, the biotechnology industry, medical device and pharmaceutical companies, clinics, academic institutions and government agencies.  HSRL has recently completed a laboratory expansion including a redesigned 11,000 sq ft combined office and laboratory space at 5930 Main Street in Mount Jackson, Virginia. More than double the original footprint, this much larger space will serve to support the growth of the company now and well into the coming years.

HSRL’s headquarters, located only a few minutes’ drive from Interstate 81, has contemporary office space for administration and support staff as well as a modernized histology laboratory which can accommodate more than fifty histology technicians. The expansion, including improvements and upgrades, together facilitate HSRL’s continued commitment to providing expertise, quality, and efficiency in support of a multitude of clients both domestically and internationally.

Tom Galati

Tom Galati, CEO and Laboratory Director, founded HSRL in February 1999 after receiving his education at George Mason University and James Madison University. He started the company to provide histology services to pharmaceuticals companies, government researchers and Contract Research Organizations. Mr. Galati expanded the company to include archiving services since 2005 and pathology services since 2006. Tom serves as General Manager and oversees the business operations of HSRL. He is also the Director of HSRL’s long term archives. His experience includes overseeing the processing of over 1,000 GLP studies at HSRL including toxicologic studies, neurotoxicity studies, reproductive toxicology studies, inhalation studies, sub-chronic and carcinogenicity studies. Tom attends several symposia each year including: Society of Toxicology, Society of Toxicologic Pathology, Society of Experimental Biology, Society of Quality Assurance, American College of Toxicology, National Society for Histotechnology and American College of Veterinary Pathologists.
