High quality histopathology starts with proper necropsy techniques. HSRL has a team of trained prosectors who travel the country providing prosector services to you and your team.
We also offer necropsy supervision by one of our highly trained veterinary pathologists. Our team is trained in necropsy techniques on the following species: mouse, rat, ferret, guinea pig, pig, rabbit, dog and non-human primate.
Having a well trained team of histotechnicians is important in preparing the highest quality slides. HSRL employs a technical trainer who is a highly skilled histotechnologist and oversees the training of all laboratory personel.
Our team routinely prepares upwards of 15,000 prepared slides each month- which requires a large dedicated and skilled team of histotechnicians. Each tissue leaving HSRL has been reviewed microscopically to ensure it is consistently placed, free of artifacts, and has crisp staining.
We offer: bone decalcification, oversized tissue paraffin embedding and processing, hundreds of special stains and work with a variety of species to include both small and large animals.
Our histology laboratory is 100% GLP compliant and has been audited by the FDA three times and Form 483s have never been issued.
HSRL provides a broad range of routine and advanced immunohistochemical stains on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues. Our immunostaining is automated using Biocare's intelliPATH Autostainer- which was developed specifically for research applications. Using the Biocare platform, HSRL is able to quickly optimize new antibodies to keep your project on schedule.
We are happy to help guide your research project by advising which markers would best fit your needs. We offer both chromogenic and fluorescent markers to aid in fulfilling your study's pathological endpoints. We can use your protocol or optimize one we've used in order to give the most accurate results.
We offer double or triple labeling IHC and IF, which is a cost effective and efficient way of localizing two proteins on one section of tissue.
Our pathologists are well versed in immuno interpretation and evaluation and are eager to analyze, score and report on your study.
Successful image analysis begins with the ability to produce high quality images. Using Image-Pro MediaCybernetics software, we can extract quantifiable data by capturing the image, segmenting, classifying and measuring the area of interest.
HSRL's morphometry and image analysis services were brought in-house for the specific reason of supporting our preclinical clients with their research endeavors. This quantitative data aids both our clients and our pathologists in accurately reporting study results.
Converting glass microscope slides to high resolution, digital images allows clients to view slides from anywhere with the click of a button. Digital slides can be viewed online via our image management software or we can send them to you directly on an external hard drive.
We can produce whole slide image files with multiple magnifications inlcuding 2x, 4x, 10x, 20x and 40x. Brightfield and fluorescence scanning capabilities are available and we can scan single, double or triple labeled slides. These images can be accessed at your convenience for pathology discussions, publication or internal review.
